Successful construction and maintenance of 1 MLD deflouridation ETP for NALCO

Challenge

The effluents at the NALCO smelter plant in Angul had a fluoride level of 35 PPM, which had to be reduced to 1 PPM

Solution

  •  Scaled up the EMRION technology at a commercial level and installed a 1 million liters a day purification plant at NALCO.
  •  Project was completed within 8 months to commence operations.
  • The scope of the project included civil, mechanical and electrical works along with a process automation system.

Outcome

The plant has been 100% operational since February 2017 and successfully addressed the issue of fluoride contamination endemic to the Angul sector. With Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) capabilities, this breakthrough innovation has stood the test of time and continues to remain unmatched in performance and reliability.
